John Pemberton
Righthand bat & Right arm off spin bowler
John is taking up the 1XI captaincy, he is a free hitting batsmen who bats in the middle order. John started off his career as a medium pace bowler but realised that wasn't working for him, so he went to Australia in the winter and has come back as an offpin bowler. John has come through the Junior ranks who has represented Lancashire schoolboys and at 19 he is captaining the Elton 1XI. Good Luck to the Lad!!
Steve Lomas:-
Right hand Bat and Wicketkeeper.
Known as Cheeky.Very valuable player for the 1XI who his a free hitting top order batter, on his day he can destroy any attack, represented the league side last season and he was captained of the 1XI, who won the cross cup in 1996. He has come through the junior ranks. Ste should also try keeping of the PIES !! and that will keep him fit for the season(JOKE!!).
Abid Riaz
Right Hand Bat and Right arm Medium Pace
Known as Abz, he was captain of the U18 side who won the double and last year he was captain of the 2XI for a few games, until the first team called him, where he established himself as a first team regular who played some match winning innings and also took a few vital wickets. Abid also represented the league u18 side and played for Buryschoolboys. Abid will be a vital player to the squad who can score runs very quickly especially in the later overs in the innings, who will bat in the middle order. He has also got coaching qualifications which will be handy for coaching the juniors.
Rashid Riaz
Right Hand Batsmen
Rashid is known as the run machine, nutty professor and inzamam-ul-haq. Guess why he is known as that? He is very similar player to Inzamam a big guy who doesn't often run singles, he plays in fours & sixes, and often is involved in run outs. He is a very strong player who can hit the ball far. Holds the junior record of the quickest 50 from 15 balls. He plays in the U18s and last year he broke into the 1XI where he established himself as good middle order batter and also held onto to some valuable catches in the slips. Rashid also represented the league u15 side and played for Buryschoolboys.
Steve Duxbury
Right Hand Batsmen & Right arm medium pace bowler
Ste has been playing cricket since he was a junior at Elton but last season he spent a season at Leigh Cricket Club, where he struggled to establish himself as a 1XI regular, so he is back at Elton. He is a very useful bowler who bowls at a steady peace and will be hoping to get a lot of wickets this season, ste is also a good lower order batter who can hit it bit. He will be a key player to the squad if he keeps off the BEER !!!
Rick Ainsworth
Right Hand Batsmen & Right arm medium pace bowler
Rick is a very talented cricketer, who needs to sort his head out and keep off the BEER!! Rick captained the U18 and also represented the U18 league side. He is a very good top order batsmen who will hoping to get a few runs this season and he also bowls useful medium pace inswingers which will trouble a few batters in the league. Valuable memeber of the team.
Alan Wainwright
Picture to be added
Right hand Batsmen & Left arm meduim Bowler
Alan is a very big lad, whos mood changes very quickly and no-one in the team wants to mess with him as he will eat you alive!!! Alan is a very good left are bowler who can swing it both ways and last season he got a few valuable wickets but he wasn't given enough chance to show what he actually could to do and hopefully this season he can show that. He is also a good lower ordr bat who can get you runs.
Mike Potts
Right Hand Batsmen
Mike is a free hitting player who scored many runs in the 2XI, but since he has been playing in the 1XI he has not been given the oppurtunity to show what he can do to establish himself as good 1XI player. He is hoping is fortune changes this season and is among the run scorers.
Daniel Fenton
Right hand Batsmen
Danny is currently captain of the U18 team. Last season he started playing for the 2XI opening the innings where he scored a lot of runs which made him progress himself to the 1XI, where he found it a bit diffcult when he opened the batting with a new ball and the professionals balling at him. We hope he has learnt from last year and he will become good in the 1 XI.
Peter Kay
Right Hand Batsmen & Right arm medium fast pace bowler
Known as the 'Elton Express'. Pete broke into the 1XI last season and at the start of the season he wasn't getting a bowl, but when he got the chance, did he take it he become the opening bowler of the team which led him to take about 45 wickets in the season and he also got the chance to represent the league team, Pete is also an outstanding fielder who can save you about 20 runs in the field. Lets not forget about his batting he played some outstanding innings when he got the oppurtunity last season especially his 88 against Dasiy Hill when he opened the Batting. At the end of season pete was a key player in the 1XI. Lot will rely on him this season with his all round ability. Voted player of year for the club last year.
Zaheer Ahmed
Right Hand Batsmen & Right arm medium pace bowler
Known as Zed. Plays most of his cricket in 2XI but last season made a few appearances into the 1XI. He is a key player in the 2XI who opens the bowling and is a batter who doesn't know what the Off Side is. He still somehow manages to get runs. Zed got awarded the quickest 50 in the 2XI last season which came off 20 balls. Zed should be playing 1XI cricket but his unavalibilty to play 2 games a weekend is stopping his progression to become a 1XI regular.
Bilal Mustapha
Right Hand Batsmen & Right arm Legspinner
The club's most promising youngster. Known as SPIN KING. Bilal is 14 yrs old and last season he played is first season in the senior leagues and in his first game for the 2XI he took seven wickets, which made him progress to the 1XI where he cemented his place taking 50 wickets in the season which included 8-40 against Egdeworth. Won the young player award last season. He is currently playing for Lancashire U15's and he is wanted by alot of clubs from higher leagues. Has the potential to make it to first class cricket or even further, he just needs to sharpen his batting.
Ian Gade

Ian comes from Burnley and is a taleneted all round cricketer, especially in the field where he can save you alot of runs, he is also a very good bowler and batter, but cricket isn't his priority he plays semi-professional football, which means missing a few games.
